POINT OF CARE - DIABETES (POC-D) Revolutionizing diabetes care in resource limited settings

  Point-of-Care Diabetes Model  ABSTRACT: We summarize key patient variables by domain, noting their relevance to glycemic control and complication risk. Adults with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are considered separately. Each bullet below lists variables that can be measured at low cost (anthropometry, basic labs, etc.) or important phenotypic/genetic factors. Type 1 Diabetes Variables ·          Demographics (Age, Sex): Age at onset and current age affect disease course. Adult-onset T1D (LADA) often has slower progression, whereas younger adults may have more labile control.
